The light was so nice and warm as I was sitting there I just thought I'd see how the camera would do with such strong light and was happy to see the image wasn't blown out. I thought this was sort of a Seattle counterpart to Eric's classic Parisian table top scene, and I thought of a shot I took a couple years ago at Uptown Cafe in the Cascade neighborhood, also in strong light that surprisingly turned out with okay exposures.

I like all your remarks about knights and battle craters. That's too funny. I get pretty serious when I'm playing, and it is so fun to have a well-matched worthy opponent (read that: I'm just like Abe, I like to win ;^) ). And Abe, glad this brought up such good memories. My daughter learned how to play chess in elementary school, then taught me so that she would have someone to play with. Later in her seventh grade year we both took a class in it together. That's when I started beating her and SHE stopped playing with me!

Thanks very much for stopping by to comment, and I hope the rest of the week shapes up well for you all,
-KimKimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03687351187791689224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23860865.post-5557602650533875802009-05-19T14:57:07.728-07:002009-05-19T14:57:07.728-07:00The texture in the wood is fantastic, and the warm...The texture in the wood is fantastic, and the warm light.
