Not...Glad the corn looked inspiring to a few folks. Nothing says summer in the States to me like tomatoes, corn, watermellon, peaches, and berries. My east coast branch of the family gets a white corn called "Silver Queen" fresh from a farmer's stand and cooks it that same afternoon, served up with steamed clams. . .it's our family's favorite summer meal, and the corn oh so sweet. As much as I love the west coast, we can't get corn that is as sweet as back east, although it's still good.

MB, I had to pick my daughter up at the airport about the time the torchlight parade was happening. They had the viaduct shut down, so I was way out of the way on I-5 coming back and so we didn't make it. I went to the seafoodfest instead. I hope you went and took photos or watched via TV.

Today's shot was a candid. I was waiting in line for an ear of corn when I glimpsed something purple and yellow out of the corner of my eye. I raised the camera up and just had time to get a close up of the young woman taking a first bite of the ear she purchased. She never noticed me and walked happily away enjoying her corn, as did I mine.
Thanks to each of you for stopping by!
-KimKimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03687351187791689224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23860865.post-40583261340540843822008-07-28T03:52:00.000-07:002008-07-28T03:52:00.000-07:00There was a time when I loved to eat sweet corn li...There was a time when I loved to eat sweet corn like this lady. I've not had corn on the cob for years. You see it here in plastic packaging - imported I think - and it doesn't appeal - when there is so much fresh stuff about. I'll keep an eye out for a fresh one.

Great shot - as always, Kim - so much colour, her eyes - the detail of her fingernails.
