Festive Banners, Tree, and Star in Downtown Seattle

This is the huge Christmas tree at Westlake Center in the heart of Seattle's downtown shopping district. It is lighted each year on the evening after Thanksgiving. The giant star is affixed to the top of the old Bon Marche (now Macy's) building. Shoppers enjoy the festive atmosphere. Across the street is a popular children's carousel and all around there are street musicians and performance artists.

As usual, a wonderful set of photos - Seattle is especially nice during the holidays (and in the summer) - it's just very festive and vibrant, despite the weather - and there is extra enjoyment in living here! I still get sad though that so much of the "old downtown" is being lost - I want the Bon Marche back!
