City Daily Photo Theme Day: The View From Your Room

Photo & Text Copyright 2007 Seattle Daily Photo. All rights reserved, including reproduction or republishing.

"Objects in zoom may appear closer than they really are." (to paraphrase what my car mirror says ;^) ) But, this is my territorial view of glorious Mt. Rainier. Of course it is spectacularly beautiful here this week and the mountain has been "out" everyday. That is not always the case! Many days I just see those two chimneys. . .sigh. I took this shot in the late afternoon (and a seaplane just happened into the frame!. . .I love when that happens).

Now check out some "rooms with a view" from 83 other cities all around the globe.

Spectacular!!! and to think I've never seen a mountain in my life except for once the alps looking through the airplane window. Enjoy your beautiful view!

wow! wonderful view! and what a treat to be able to get a shot of the plane on a clear day! lucky shot! I understand the feeling of knowing that the mountains are there, but not being able to see them--usually it's too hazy to get a clear view of the alps from Zurich. Normally you can just barely make out their outline. Oh, but when it is clear, it's such a treat to see them! (unfortunately not possible from my bedroom window though...)

Gorgeous view! Lucky to have caught the seaplane, too!

How fortunate that Rainier was "out" this week! My parents traveled in the Pacific Northwest for two weeks last month, and my photographer dad complained that he only had one chance to shoot Mt Rainier when it wasn't hidden away. The seaplane is a nice touch!

Now this is what I called a view, do we have live in suburbs to have view like yours?

Many thanks for visiting and leaving a comment for theme day! I know it is hard to get around to our many CDPB family sites, so really appreciate hearing from you all.

I cracked up about the housework, Ramblingaround. So THAT's my problem ;^)

Ainz, I'm wondering if the haze that keeps the Alps from your view is pollution or mountain cloud/mist patterns or both.

Two&2 LA, Ah, it only looks fresh because you can see through it! ;^) It's actually killing the ancient Madrona trees here in Seattle. When I was a kid in OC we could hardly ever see the mountains until the Santa Anas came through in the fall. I hear it is better these days.

I'm very late getting around to all of the theme day photos. This is one of my favs. Apart from europe, traveling around the northwest was our best vacation ever. Great shot!
