Majestic Bay Pig on Parade

Photo & Text Copyright 2007 Seattle Daily Photo. All rights reserved, including reproduction or republishing.

This Movie Pig, complete with popcorn trousers, sits outside the Majestic Bay Theaters, the oldest continuously running movie theater west of the Mississippi. The neighborhood theater in the heart of Ballard is now a triplex and is showing Shrek the 3rd, Pirates the 3rd, and Ocean's 13. Seventy artistically adorned Pigs on Parade 2007 created by individuals and businesses are scattered all over Seattle in celebration of Pike Place Market's centennial. Rachael, the Market's famous bronze piggy bank is the inspiration for these life sized replicas.

As the wizard would say on the Wizard of OZ movie, "That's a pig of a different color". He says horse but we'll just change it a bit.
