August Theme Day: Typical Breakfast

Photo & Text Copyright 2007 Seattle Daily Photo. All rights reserved, including reproduction or republishing.

It's the first of August theme day, and 100 city daily photobloggers are prepared to show you what a typical breakfast in their city is like. This was breakfast at my house: eggs, avocado, hot sauce, toast with apricot jam, orange juice, and black coffee (for a close up, see my More Seattle Stuff page). Yes, that is an old map of Paris under the table glass. . .we like to imagine walking the streets there; but, the Mt. Rainier posters can give you the real sense of where this breakfast was eaten. Now, click on the links below for a world tour of le petit dejeuner:

Kim, that is a beautiful photo, and an absolutely heavenly looking breakfast - stay there, I'm on my way over right now!

PS I can bring my own tea rather than have coffee!

This is a lovely photo...I love the idea of the Paris Map under the glass table top. Great memories.

Sally, I'd be delighted! (and any other CDPrs) Please DO come to Seattle and visit me. And Sally, you may bring your tea, but this IS Seattle after all so you've got to try a bit of the dark stuff at some point.
And thanks to all for the kind comments about the map!

like everyone else has said - a lovely setting for breakfast.

The setting is really very beautiful.

I was supposed to go and teach French at the university of Seattle two years ago, but I turned down the offer . I am so silly (at the time my back hurt a lot....). I will regret not going there for all the rest of my life!

I love your Mt. Rainier posters; they're the old-fashioned prints, is that correct? I've been collecting similar style postcards of the places I visit in Switzerland. -- What's the hot sauce you mention? Avocado for breakfast sounds good actually. I like mine with a mild balsamic vinegar. -- I have to admit that I don't eat Müesli all that often, but I do like it as a snack sometimes (it's a popular afternoon snack over here). -- Thank you for you visits and comments.

OK where did my comment go? What a great idea, that Paris map under the glass! And also, that black and white picture of Seattle, above is just gorgeous!

I like the idea to have a Paris (or any city) map under the glass. I like your breakfast.

Great breakfast photo.

Sorry to hear that you only got the Timbits box and not the Timbits last time. If you are a fan of the McKenzie brothers, then you might be interested to know that Red Cap Ale (brewed by Brick Brewing in Waterloo) has the McKenzie brothers on a series of their beer bottles (stubbies no less). If your husband comes to Ontario, he should pick you up some.

Definitely a lovely setting. The Mt. Reiner posters make for a great local angle for the photo.

if you were to sit at the table daily having breakfast, the map should be at the back of your head! hehe..

Happy Theme Day!
