Flash Mob Pillow Fight

Oooooops! A Pillow Explodes

Happy St. Patrick's Day to those celebrating today!
This photo is from a Flash Mob Pillow Fight at Bergen Place in the heart of the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle yesterday. Have there been Flash Mob events of some kind in your city? In the case of this pillow fight, an organizer sent emails inviting people to come with concealed pillows at 2:22 PM. At that time, a whistle sounded and all these people who had gathered in the area suddenly whipped out their pillows and started clobbering each other. Midway through the 5 minutes allotted, feathers exploded everywhere. When the time was up a whistle blew and people stopped and walked away quickly, clapping and cheering. Someone had tipped off the news media, as two stations had cameramen there. For more photos, see my Flickr site.

Judging by the smiles, it must have been a lot of fun! Did you know about it ahead of time or was it just being in the right place, right time?

Sounds like lots of fun! But since Seattle is such a clean city, who cleaned up the feathers, or were they left to blow away? That wouldn't really be so bad!

HAHA, looks like a hoot. Never heard of these types of things, but I am in a small town. Not far from Dallas, but far enough.

Well captured Kim. Nothing like that happens in my town but I know it goes on in Toronto. It looks like they're having a blast.

IRISH BLESSINGS!

May soft gentle breezes brush o'er your face,
For each loving touch is God's warm embrace.
May you have enough for all that you need,
And never be hurt by another one's greed.
The Lord keep you safe from terrible things,
And at the end of this life, lift you up on His wings.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and may the Leprechauns be good to you!

Kim, I certainly missed that one. Great catch! I did see a "Grand Prank" video of something similar in Grand Central Station where a crowd of people froze in place like statues for 60 seconds. Fun to hear the non-participants comments and questions; especially the driver of a garbage collection tractor who was locked in place. Poor guy was on his radio calling for help. Just when got a little panicky the crowd awoke and moved off. This Ballard event sound similar. Happy St. Paddy's Day to you.

It looks like a good time was had by all (except maybe those who have to cleanup the feathers) ... No flash events in Greenville. However Sam took a photo of a similar pillow fight in Toronto in May of last year.

I think it's very fun to be in one place at the same time with someone you don't know but the next thing you knew you're having fun with them. I,ve never heard of anything like that.
