Fluffed in the Breeze

Fluffed in the Breeze

Spring is trying to come, but scattered cold showers are back for most of the week. Like this little English sparrow, we're all donning something a bit warmer and dreaming of sun breaks. Hope its a great start to the work week for you! US folks, got those taxes finished?

Hey, that's a SERBIAN sparrow, not an English one. He must have flown off my posting and over to Seattle to check it out. Sorry to hear it's so cold there still. It was supposed to rain all week here, but now it's warm and sunny. Love the tiny ruffled feathers on his little round body.

Nice photo. He is all fluffed up trying to stay warm. We had much the same weather here.

Great photo. I like the focus. What kind of camera do you have?

Oh, and I was able to get the angle on that street sign because it was knocked down!

Have a great day.

Wish I could identify birds like Old Abe! Looks like a bird to me -:) Definitely winter coat weather again, though. I think we had a short summer and passed right on by fall back to winter!

What a gorgeous bird photo, Kim. Amazingly fluffed up little love, isn't he? Love it. I read that numbers of sparrows are diminishing in England. Sad if that's true.

What a cutie. Sparrows are on the decline in UK. I have baby blackbid in the garden who is hopping around. Hasn't got around to flying off yet.

I just wanted to let you know that I can't even stand to visit your site anymore since you added the automatic music. I rarely check it anymore.

Thanks so much to everyone for your kind comments. I love hearing from you all. And Turtle, I have a DSLR and this shot was at 200mm.

Anon, thanks very much for this valuable feedback re. the music. I don't know if it was the type of music, or just that it was annoying to have music start up, or that it delayed page load and made things a hassle. I had so many folks comment that they liked it that I expanded the playlist, and one woman said she kept the page up the whole time she was on the computer just to listen to the music. One visitor was irritated to have music streaming over the iTunes he already is listening to and mentioned the page load time was long, and another reader, probably with dial up, mentioned a way long pageload time, too. So this being a photoblog in emphasis I've removed the player for now. I may put back a player with 2 or 3 tunes that the visitor can turn on if they would like. I have left up the player with samples of my buddies, The Bittersweets, which a reader can turn on if they wish. I've heard a market researcher say that if one person voices an opinion, there are at least 10 other folks out there silently thinking the same thing. So, the folks that loved the playlist had a taste of some artists I appreciate and can check out the Seattle Daily Photo playlist on Deezer if they'd like to go to that website. Again, really helpful to hear from you on this.

I can't tell you how much I love this photo! I can't get over how reminiscent of snowflakes the feathers are. Who knew an English Sparrow could be so beautiful?
I sure wish it would be spring here in the PNW...or at least less frigid!
