Two freight trains rumble slowly past each other on the railroad bridge just west of the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks at sunset. The bridge lifts and waits at a suspended angle when not in use so that tall-masted boats and larger ships can make their way through the ship canal to and from Puget Sound.

Hi, Kim! Your shots are so lovely; still planning to come to Seattle early September and see the places (and meet you, I hope) in person.

In the meantime, I'll be now checking daily, even though I have houseguests for a while.

A photo with a wonderful evening light atmosphere. I like the heavy sound of the freight trains. they seem so powerful.

Beautiful Header Photo!!!!
We are going for a weekend in Seattle on the 18th...and we hope we can get back in time to spend some time at the lavender festival in Sequim. My son is flying in to Seattle from Philly and we want to see him first.

Your photos make me so excited about the long drive to Seattle!

This is a beautiful image. The silhoutte is so striking against the shimmering golden tones. Industrial backdrops can ofen make the most charming images.

I gave you a 5 on this one. I like the way you have the setting sun silhouetting the train and bridge. The reflection on the high tide is very nice too.
