Bienvenidos!

Okay, so it's the second overcast gray day in a row after weeks and weeks and weeks of absolute sunshine. If I can't get it outside, at least I can attempt to hang on to that feeling of high summer in El Diablo Coffee's cheerful interior, every square foot of which has been painted with wild, whimsical figures and colorful abandon by Fiona McGuigan & Zephyr Nelson. Watch out, though, it's not just the murals, table tops and chairs that radiate warm fuzzies; that Cuban sunshine in a cup packs a big buzz! Maybe you feel it a little bit in this picture ;^). Here we go into fall on Monday. Hope your last weekend of summer 2008 is great (or last weekend of WINTER for you folks with the blood rushing to your heads down under)!

I love this time of year. The leaves are starting to change, there is a crisp feeling in the air, and Halloween (my favorite holiday) is just around the corner.

Those clear days after a string of gray rainy days is what I enjoy. The sun and blue sky with fresh snow on the mountains.

It's definitely a linger over coffee kind of place. I didn't even think about it being the end of summer - although we are having a warm spell, the air feels different even down in SoCal. PS -I'm so glad you liked the PVDP post today.

Love the colours and designs in this place. so much life. It reminds me of hippie places from years ago - but then I never grew up...

Looks like such a fun spot to grab the morning coffee - would definitely put you in a sunny frame of mind at the start of the day...

It sprinkled in Birmingham yesterday! We were as excited as uselaine! This shop is great. There are some happy artists in your neck of the woods. I love the blur on the left. Caffeine overload? buzzzzzzzz

I love the feeling of this shot; perhaps because of the way it whooshes from left to right, perhaps the color and the feeling of "it's dark outside but falsely bright in here!" It evokes that feeling of fighting off autumn's chill when you know it's impossible.
