My friend Dan is a voracious reader. He often mentions what he is currently enjoying and how it is affecting him. I love it when he's so into it he just starts reading aloud. It's kind of infectious and more than once I've noted something he's mentioned and picked up a copy and dived in myself. Well, I was photowalking in the neighborhood where his office is and as I passed by, I looked up at the window where I know his desk is. I had to laugh wondering if those are his stacks to read or the ones he's already finished! Seattle is noted as being America's most literate city, at least it was until last year when Minneapolis deposed us after two years at the top of the heap. Apparently someone has done the math and given us the distinction of actually reading the books we check out of the library and purchase. Well, I think Dan's keeping up HIS end of it! Here's a shot of my current stack ;^).

Probably are books he has read or wants to read. It makes a neat theme day photo.
I forgot about theme day so I just found some of the books I wrote and took a photo and published that. Too late to be included in the group but it worked for me. LOL
I knew you'd come up with a stunning and different image. Just beautiful and love reading the commentary too. Fascinating reading on your link.
Love the stack of books, and the paint colour below the window!
Do visit Norwich Daily Photo and find out what I have in store for this month's theme. Happy theme day! Enjoy your weekend!

Books in a window...a real reader! Great photo for theme day.
I too, love a nice pile of books around.. you never know in what mood you are and which one you are going to pick.
Nice pick.
have a good WE
I also like this perspective with that yummy blue paint color setting off that grand stack so well. Good job Kim!
Your photo and explanation are wonderful. It is a challenge to make a photo of books interesting and to tell something about your city. You accomplished both ... Dan deserves an at-a-boy for doing his part to keep Seattle a literate city ... I'm also impressed with your stack of books and how many titles include Paris ... most of all I like your phrase "photowalk" and I fully intend to use the term as well ... happy theme day.
Such a wonderful, personal shot!
Yep, we too have a reader friend like Dan whose enthusiasm has us looking through and reading all manner of new things. Great take on the theme, Kim! I also liked your "photowalk" :)
Greetings from Juneau (Alaska) Daily Photo!
I love your added uniqueness to theme day. His window looks like our library pot. Library Pot? I designate a very large, faux copper flower pot in our living room for the library books. I often find them stacked outside the pot because it's full.:)
Have a great day!
Makes me want to cuddle up next to a window with a good book.
I love your shot Kim.
Great shot!
Like your photo and the angle too. I checked out your stack and see we have similar tastes--I've read four of your books!
Kim, this is a great way to illustrate your love of books. Your friend is a great example of a book lover.
What a great photo!
Very nice catch for great theme day topic. Enjoy!
Nice shot. I love books and even reading them. LOL. 3rd St Books is in Marysville. MB
Oh, this is definitely another one to mark as a "favourite" for this month's theme day. (The other was at aglimpseoflondon.blogspot.com.) Well done! I love the shot, the focus, and the colour of the house. I also love the ideas this gives me...books, tea, a fireplace, orange and yellow flowers, leaves falling like rain outside my window...the best time of the year! (After Christmas, of course.)
Wish I'd gotten in on this theme day!
Love your blog.
I've given you an award at mine.
I love this shot. And books. And the color of the house - it makes me happy. These books in the window remind me of the stacks of books I collect to read, and also reminds me I collect faster than I read resulting in moratoriums on my book-buying habits. What is it about books and the worlds they open up to us? Wonderful!
