Before anything else, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has left me comments and made me feel welcome in the last week. Kim is very lucky to have such a supportive group of people at her site. I am a common lurker (actually, I see every post she puts up via her RSS feed) but seldom comment. I think you all have inspired me to visit the site and comment more.

I put a vote to my friends as to which photo I should present on my final day here at Seattle Daily Photo. I really wanted to give you all something fresh and new, but the weather around here has been nothing but depressing and gray (well, until it started snowing again this afternoon). So, I give you this one; the orange chair. I vividly remember walking past this Pioneer Square alley in the rain and doing a double take. I considered just how wet my camera would get, and then decided it wouldn't matter anyway. There was no way I was going to pass this photo opportunity. The whole scene looked so perfect and manufactured, but I really think someone was just throwing out an old chair. I snapped 3 shots, looked at my wet (and getting wetter) camera, and decided to throw it back into my bag before doing it any real harm.

Once again, thank you all for being so awesome this week!

I like the way the orange of the chair is complemented by the tone of the light in the window. Great shot!

Fantastic picture. this is just the sort of photograph I often like to take myself. Love the high contrasts etc.

I was wondering if you would be willing to submit this picture to my world city gallery, it will help to inspire other urban photographers whi visit my site.

here is the link to the submit form http://www.urban-photography-art.com/travel-photos.html#HERE

I will visit your blog again soon to see more of your images.

Hey Shawn, thanks for your great photographs, I really enjoyed them. I would call this one an example of spotting the special in the ordinary. There's so many things that are exactly right in this picture, all because of the chair being there. Good on you!

Great shot. I was thinking about how it would look reupholstered but when you mentioned the rain, I guess not! Glad you risked your camera to get the shot. It's a good one for sure.

Your blog is so lovely, you've really inspired me to get started on my "One Picture a Day" photography project. BTW, what type of camera do you use to capture such amazing photos? (I need to upgrade right now anyway).
