Heart on Display

Downtown , 4th & University, Luly Yang Couture display windows featuring wedding attire and a valentine heart. A Seattle Academy school bus passes by the busy corner. It has turned a bit cold and we had some hail and snowfall last night and the night before. Perhaps the groundhog was right!

I like this. I like how you softened the areas around the window display to highlight the heart/gowns.
I, also, love that 'one way' sign and the subtext it adds to this beautifully composed photograph.
An interesting and original focus on the heart and the blur all around.
Thank you so much for the nice words you left on my blog . They brightened up my weekend!!
It all looks so tiny and colorful, like a perfect little model!
Absolutely perfect... again! ;-)
I'm with Bibi. How did you do this?! This is a very creative shot - you've certainly got talent.

i LOVE this effect! it looks like a mini-model of downtown. It's great!
Is this with a tilt/shift lens? I like that gimmick!
Thanks, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I was playing with the tilt-shift lens effect that makes things looks like miniatures. Those of you with photoshop can create this. I don't use PS, but Shawn from Slightlynorth had been playing with a free program and I thought I would try it out. It is very limited and not at all like a real tilt-shift lens, but fun nonetheless.

So pretty! Reminds me of the recent article in the Seattle magazine featuring this technique.
What magazine was that? Another of my Flickr friends, Seattle photographer Aaron Morris, recently rented a tilt-shift lens from Glazer's and one of the shots he took from an I-5 freeway ramp made it to top 10 in Explore!
The free site Shawn used to simulate a miniature effect is tiltshiftmaker.com. You might like to try it out, too.

Great photo. I like the effect.
Bibi directed me to check this photo out as i hve posted a wedding dress photo. She thinks there is some kind of CDP blogger ESP going on! She could be right.
BTW, just looked back through you more recent posts. I love all the light photos. There are some really good ones, so colourful.

Amazing, that miniature effect. Haven't seen that before.
Just lovely.
