Jackpot!

I've always felt I was lucky in love. I think a home owner on Queen Anne Hill feels the same way. This is just a small peek at some of the festive and bright Valentine's Day decorations I noticed displayed in their front yard and just had to stop and photograph (more here). As we start this week I want to say how much our hearts go out to the folks in southeastern Australia in the wake of the devastating fires, and to the thousands of families that are heartsick from their losses in war torn DRC and Gaza.

That is so sweet! But I don't think my husband would agree to my decorating the house like this. I just got him to say yes to a valentine wreath on the door :D
I like your sentiments for those suffering too. Bless you, Kim.
Wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing the joy, uplifting in this time of horror around the world.
Valentine chic for sure! GREAT COLOR and of course you composed it just right.
Kim, bright shot, kind heart. Thanks.
excellent photo! This would have been good for V-Day also. I also liked your atomic neon.
It is so fun to see how people decorate for any occasion.
Happy Heart Day!
You do have a kind heart. Thank you for reminding us to send special vibes to Australia and other parts of the world. MB
That's so nice! Nobody does anything even remotely as sweet as that over here...
Wow Valentine's Day decorations in the window is a new one on me. This shot just jumps beautifully out of the portal!
Love the shot. Love your title. You're a romantic, aren't you Ms. Kim!? (Pot to kettle on that question I have a feeling...)
This is cool. I wouldn't personally go overboard to decorate my house for Valentine's Day, but appreciate others' efforts.
I am very much missing my Valentine this year...
Simple but to the point!!! while playing with colors.
What a stunner of a photograph, Kim. Love the people who did this. And also agree with your sentiments in relation to the dreadful fires in Oz and what is going on in Gaza etc.
Wanted to thank you so much for your comments on Menton the other day. That meant a lot. And guess what, Bibi on A Yank in Belgrade found a website with camera bags for ladies - and look at the name!

Hilda, I got a kick out of your quip the other day about imagining your brother having those spacey neons for his room decorations. . .I'm sure he wouldn't go for these at all. I bet your wreath looks wonderful. I hope you will show it to us!
EG Tour Guide, Virginia, Battcat, Julie, Pete, & Marie-Noyale thank you so much, guys!
MB, I wonder if the folks who started the trend of decorating for every holiday were school teachers who had overflow materials from their classrooms :-) That was certainly the only place, except stores, that I saw stuff like this in the past. And I hope our good vibes can somehow help. I know there are a number of NGO's and charitable organizations that need our monetary support to bring much needed assistance in these areas and I hope, even in these scary times, we can be as generous as possible. I read the heartbreaking news that 47% of the tens of thousands of deaths have been children. All these situations are just horrifying.
Cieldequimper, Lynn, These are somewhat unusual here, too. I was amazed at the lavish extent of this display.
Laurie, well, I'm more a pragmatist really, but I'm missing my sweetie and just really thankful that such a wonderful guy loved me. We had a solid love and looking around I see how much that is a rare and special gift to have. I hit the jackpot, for sure.
Bibi, I'm with you. Fun to see others do, but not my cup of tea. I hope that special spot in your heart is filled a bit as you remember something funny, sweet, and very special about your valentine this valentine's day. It is hard when the one who knows and cares for you most can't be there with you anymore, though they would if they could. My sweetie's birthday, our anniversary, and valentine's day all occur in quick succession, and I'm feeling especially puddley. I'm wishing you well as you miss your dear love.
Jilly, Oh that is too amazing that it's named for you! It was meant to be. Are you ordering one? I've seen various designer camera bags and they were a bit too pricey for the ones I really liked, and just in general none of the lens bags function the way I'd like them to and weigh a ton to lug around. I want to look like I just have a cute bag with me, not something that draws attention shouting "camera bag."
And, congrats again on your 2nd blogoversary!
-Kim
Wow, that shot is amazing. It also fits the tribute you give to the folks in Australia.
