First Day of Spring Robin

Photo & Text Copyright 2009 Seattle Daily Photo. All rights reserved, including reproduction or republishing.

Hidden among the raindrops and buds of the tree is a robin who came to call on the first day of spring. It was like royalty with an attendant court of little roof finches flitting about nearby.

Please join me in wishing Bob, our Arch Ansel at St. Louis Daily Photo a happy 2nd Blogoversary today. Be sure to check out his spectacular shots and clever, thought provoking posts. And belated 1st Blogoversary congrats to Bitingmidge of Sunshine Coast Daily Photo. Hope you are having a beautiful Sunday.

This is such a beautiful catch with that spray of pink budding life serving as the throne for your regal robin.

In Pennsylvania I used to love to spot the first robin. This is so beautiful; I was in Seattle in the spring two years ago, and forgot how lovely it is.

Love this photo! The robin as a harbinger of spring among the maze of branches and soft pink buds is visually poetic. I had to smile at your dream story with you and me as the "actors"--it made me happy because it was such a lovely scene. It also made me realize that it has been too long since I've been to Seattle!

Nice capture. It is a lot like some of the robins around here looking for leftover fruit from last year. But the starlings got most of that and what was here the earlier robins got. It makes a nice photo with the drops of rain.

Your robins are so different ot ours. Such a treat to open what I assumed what a budding image of spring to find him nesting there. Lovely seasonal uplifting image. I have a penchant for birds.
