The contemporary equipment once housed at Seattle Fire Department Headquarters has moved from its old home in Pioneer Square to a new facility a short distance away. The fire chief and staff continue to have their offices upstairs at Headquarters, but the ground floor is now home to the Last Resort Fire Department museum which features vintage fire trucks from many eras in the Department's history. This 1958 Mack 1500-GPM pumper is so amazing. It shows a lot of detailed care and is a pleasure to just gaze at. This is dedicated to my younger brother, John, and his crew who have come up from California for some of the Fire Festival competitions held at this fire station. Ain't it a beaut, bro! (And if you'd like to know who those feet reflected in the chrome bumper belong to, click here.)

They sure knew how to make them back in the 1950ths, it's a beautiful old fire truck.
{Whistle} What a beauty. And I love the hood ornament!
Oh, you've caught her in such a great pose!
Spectacular picture Kim! I love the point of view on this, not to mention the striking color. Did you light this from just the natural light coming through the doorway?
Thoses old firetrucks were beauties. My grandpa was a fireman in Seattle and drove horses. MB
What a great old fire truck. It's in mint condition it looks like! And I'd know those feet anywhere!HA
Did you get any photos of your brother's competition? I would love to see those!

Somewhere in Australia, can't remember whether it's in Melbourne or Adelaide there's an old fire station that has been turned to a hotel. You can actually sleep in a room where a vintage fire truck sits (very popular with honeymooners, can you imagine why?) LOL
Now I wish I'd polished my shoes.
The Mack B series is one of the great truck designs of all time. INMHO.
Great shot of Wayne's shoes! I love this Mack Truck. When he was little, my son had a Mack Truck cap he would never part with. Red, too.
What a beauty! I love old fire trucks. Beautiful photo, Kim!
What a fabulous vehicle - and colour. Love your shot, Kim.
