Sunset Color Abstract

I liked the geometric and color abstract these metalic shingles on the EMP created at twilight. This west-facing surface of the building is known as Purple Haze, after the Jimi Hendrix song. You may recall my early theme day self portrait at sunrise in front of this wall and this twisted nighttime reflection of the Needle.

We love the EMP too! Husband is a very happy employee there. We love to walk to Seattle center and meet him for lunch. Have you seen the Jim Henson exhibit yet?

It seems to me that EMP offers infinite possibilities for photographs.

Nice one Kim.

I picked up the ESP from the thumbnail. There is nothing anywhere like it visually. I wonder if Paul Allen was trying to create a kind of Rorschach test for visitors.

THis is just a great shot Kim, as always. An abstract for sure. I"m getting acclimated to Paris time and hopefully will be resuming blog visits on a semi regular basis!

So nice to hear from each of you. And, Queen Anne Mama, I've not yet seen the Henson exhibit but hope to go. Bibi, the exhibit goes through mid August. Years ago we saw an exhibit of Henson creations, and I think this one will be fun. My husband had a great love of puppet theater and carved wooden headed hand puppets and marionettes. Henson moved puppet theater in wonderful directions.
Wayne, I think you are right. I just signed up for a photo summit that will be held there in July and expect I will try my luck and finding some angles I haven't tried/seen yet. Time of day can change a shot in amazing ways. This sunset light really brought out a lot of color.
Bob, I think PA just wanted a distinctive venue for his music and SciFi museums vision and let Ghery have at it. That's a scary thought: what would your Arch look like if Ghery designed it? :-)

Very cool image. In all the years I've been going to Seattle I have yet to get down to this building. Next time!

It's fun to see your Seattle photos. I checked and no one is covering Tacoma, but since I live in Gig Harbor, taking a photograph every day would require a trip over the toll bridge. Wonder if I could take several pics one day and dribble them out over a week?
