Struggling uphill on a scooter after work, this woman's day was made complete by stepping in gum. Talk about adding insult to injury! Luckily her ride pulled up to assist her just a couple steps further up the street. I was glad for her sake that those cool leg scooters are equipped with hand brakes. Remember when you were a kid wanting to try out crutches and wheelchairs. . .until you really had to use them, that is :-). It looks like a designer took a hint from children's scooters to develop this aid that keeps people mobile as they heal from their injury or surgery.
Hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend.

Ha ha. Not for a while. That seems like hard work. Uphill all the way. Nicely spotted Kim.
At least she is making the best of it!
I don't envy her but she is a trooper!
What a good catch for you. What a bummer for her. But she does seem to be an awfully good sport.
Oh ick! I see the gum. I had seen this type of scooter before. When my husband was in the hospital these were available to the injured.
But wouldn't it be fun to sit on it and zoom downhill? Then again, maybe not. MB
Wow! You nailed that shot. Good job.
These scooters are a great improvement over crutches, especially for carrying a brief case, lap top, etc over your shoulder while hobbling around.
Your photos have been fantastic. The moonrise with the Space Needle is magical.
OMG! Yes! Yes, in fact I HAVE had days like that... although I have to say that I LOVED my knee walker and some of the days have been harder since having to give it up. Story here: http://northwestladybug.blogspot.com/search/label/Broken%20ankle

Great capture. I've never seen a leg scooter like that before - very interesting
Wow, talk about perseverance! I think you captured one determined woman's spirit.
I was reading your post, looking at the photo wondering what else could have gone wrong. A flat tire perhaps?
Great shot and the gum is a bonus.
Ha, oh, too bad for her, but what a great catch for you. Recently my son sat on a bench that had been varnished not long before...and he thought he'd ruined his pants. I washed them, then took an Xacto knife and gently, gently scraped off the varnish. Pants good as new.
Technology has come a long way in helping the injured. Hate that she had to go uphill on her scooter though and that gum... Great shot.
To the injured lady- hope your injury heals soon.
Good night.
Kim, You have an eye that goes beyond detail! A wonderful shot and thanks for putting it in perspective for us that she did, indeed, have someone to help her -- of course they now have gum all over their car, but....
I totally saw this person when I was driving around downtown Seattle. I felt bad for her but then thought it was better than hobbling around with crutches.
