It is not even the dog days of summer yet, but pooches all over town are sweltering in the 85 degree heat. This pup was chillin in the shade outside a bookstore, and its owner had thoughtfully packed ice along with the collapsible water bowl for their outing.

oh, my. this one brought tears to my eyes. what expressive eyes she has. and the way you've composed the elements of this...with the black bowl and the black dog and the purple rope...really beautiful.
Love that sweet lab. Awwww!

What a sweet lab ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Awww, that is sweet! That dog has a good person!
Aw... How thoughtful about the ice cubes. They think here that if you drink something really icy cold, you'll get a sore throat. This goes for dogs, too, no kidding. I'd never heard of so many dogs having their tonsils out until I got here, no kidding. I hadn't even thought about dogs' having tonsils!
What a beautiful dog the bookstore owner has. Good to see he's been thoughtful enough to keep him cooled down.
Ah, what a gorgeous dog portrait, Kim. Labs have a wonderful way of looking to be the saddest dogs when that's not true. Love her matching bowl with ice cubes. And what a smart lead. Obviously a much loved dog.
Such a cute pup! I love dogs. And I wonder if he would actually drink from the bowl with those in there. I'm not sure my dog would have understood why there were hard items in her water. But then, my dog tends to be on the dumber side of things...
