I was photographing a street scene of a pedestrian on a sidewalk when Bambi here suddenly pulled out of the alley between me and my subject and turned into the street. I hadn't ever noticed contemporary Airstream trailers before and it was sort of cool to have this shiny curved surface suddenly appear from nowhere in the midst of the dark rain stormy scene with fall colors. Hope the folks towing it have a good trip. I'm wondering if they are snowbirds making their escape to the desert. Where would you be heading?

I'll bet your pedestrian subject is miffed that he was upstaged by a trailer! I like these little silver trailers; see a lot here in Europe in the summer.

It is certainly cool! I wouldn't mind one of those either...
Great image, that shiny metal it does add to the scene!

Love the metal trailer against the metallic sky. Wonderful capture. I wouldn't mind tagging along with this one-person caravan and see where the adventure takes me.

I have always had a fondness for the airstreams, and I love this photo. Great composition with the colourful leaves plastered to the road.

Ah, no snowbird this winter to Mexico. Instead we're headed to Santa Fe New Mexico to see what the winters are like there. Do my SF friends tell the truth about the seasonal weather there in that beautiful country, or is the pleasant weather a figment of their imagination. I should ask Randy at the SF blog, I suppose. I'll miss the ocean this year, tho!!

I would be heading somewhere which wasn't dark so early!

I like the silver airstream. There is one which parks up here and is used as a cafe, it looks soooooo cool!

Awesome trailer. Against the fall leaves it really stands out like brand new.

I imagine staying parked right there (assuming it's in the mountains with colorful leaves all around and a view of a color filled valley!)

Oh, wow, an Airstream. A bit of American history. Really like the pumped-up colors.

Sweet! And I love the contrast between the metallic Airstream and the fall foliage.

Thanks guys! I've seen a lot of the classic Airstreams and it is nice the contemporary ones still have a bit of that "look."

The Airstream cafe on wheels you mention, Hilary, is most likely Skillit. I've photographed it a few times, and most recently as it was barreling through downtown on its way somewhere fast. There was an event recently where all the Seattle mobile gourmet streetfood vendors got together in one location in Interbay, and it was a smashing success.

That's a classic trailer you have there. And the silver metallic machine contrasts so nicely with the colors of orange, yellow, green and brown in the background. I love this photo!
