Northern Entrance Seattle Center

This was once the main north gate where thousands entered the Century 21 Exposition, Seattle's 1962 World's Fair. The rolling portico roof of this exterior walkway is original. The newer touch of echoing waves of bright neon color under the breezeway eves really brightens up this night scene. The rock-like spheres are used in several places on Seattle Center's campus to prevent motor vehicle access and define spaces. Night or day, Seattle Center is a welcoming place.

Seattle Centre is a tremendous legacy for Seattle. Vancouver had a World's Fair in '86. We don't have much to show for it now. Mostly a whole lot of condos and the IMAX theatre (geodesic dome).

Oh, and access to the waterfront along False Creek.

I like this image Kim.

This image works so well with the tower in the background.

Wow, I love this photo, Kim! The light and shadows, the colors, the shapes. It's neat that the 1962 shape has been continued and expanded, and you've captured that yesterday/today moment in such a happy way.
