Canal Between

It's not Venizia, for sure, but there are small canals among Seattle's floating home communities.  This is looking from shore westward out onto Lake Union between the Eastlake neighborhood houseboat moorages of Tenas Chuck (meaning little water, the name the original inhabitants of Seattle gave Lake Union). On these gray January days finding Seattle's color seems essential.

Peaceful scene. I know what you mean about finding the color in winter. The skies are pretty grey around here too. But the Tulip trees are starting to bud. Yeah!

I can't express how appealing this scene is. Do you know anyone who lives in one of these floating communities? Does it get wearisome after awhile or is it as delightful as it appears to be?

brattcat's question came to my mind as well. It looks so lovely and peaceful that it's hard to imagine anything but perfection, but I wonder if it gets cold.

Well at least the blue tarp matches the colored cover on the tiller -:) Finding color is of the utmost importance lately, for sure. Interesting history about the original name for Lk. Union.
