Looking Up Pike Street

Although driving over this brick paved section of 1st Ave can make your teeth rattle somewhat, walking along it has its charms. This was almost a street level view looking eastward up Pike Street. I'm working on my "Tenin Perspective," trying to get ready to celebrate Paris Daily Photo's 5th Anniversary in March and our special March 11, 2010 CDPB blog day tribute to Eric Tenin's photography styles. It was too wet to actually get to ground level, but I'll get there, eventually :-). That arch in the distance belongs to the Washington State Convention Center.

I like the tone of this photo, Kim. I keep forgetting to play around with that on my own snaps. I lack inspiration because of the weather, however.

This image reminds «Louis» of Paris - which is a good thing! ;-)

I always enjoy stopping by to see your photos, and this is an extra good one.

Mister Louis is right, it does have a French feel to it!

Calumet baking powder? Lol, calumet in French is peace pipe! ;-)

Thanks for the heads up on the March 15 tribute. Yours photo is great. The detail is incredible.

Great angle here and I really like the way the light created the gold tones.

Nice, Kim. This is one of the situations where a flip out LCD viewer would be ever so helpful!

I think you're progressing beautifully. This is a super shot and one I think to delight Monsieur Tenin.

You must have gotten your clothes wet on this one!

The wet looks great, though.
(And ouch, that woman's shoes!!)

Hi there! This photo is really wonderful! The rain doesn't seem so bad when you see it like this :)

Nice! It came out looking like the city of lights.

Yes, I like this perspective too. I also like the effect of the rain and the conversion to sepia. However, one of the things that I like the most is the street manhole cover. One of my many vices!

Are you sure that you wil be picked up by the "trawler" for the post that you do on March 11th now that the trawler has found this reference to the Theme Day? You may have to contact Demosthenes to make sure.

Ooh, nice one, Kim! You got so many elements of Eric's style here.

Thank you so much for coming up with this great idea for a tribute too! We all owe so much to Eric and it is because of him that we have such a great, educational and fun community.

I like this old feeling that you have created though you are neither using blakc&white nor using full-color. Please let us know how you created it. Thanks
