At the concert venue in Olympia [see yesterday's post] I had parked my car and wandered through a colorful alley to the rear of the building. It was obviously frequented by street artists and came out onto the side entrance marked "Backstage." There were giant salmon swimming up the alley. If they were hiding in the back alley, were they back there furtively smoking? Is this the origin of smoked salmon? The inquiring mind of «Louis la Vache» wants to know!
