At low tide you might see an assortment of eagles along this dock, but today it is just a gull in flight. The birds and sea mammals love to search for fish and shell fish in these waters which are so clear I could see fingerlings all the way at the bottom. This is along the shore at Coupville on Whidbey Island, a quick get away by ferry from just north of Seattle.

Love the weathered old red building on the old brown dock! Lovely even without the crowning touch of the gull!

What a fine composition this is, Kim. That weathered red board in the foreground and the dreamy sky, land and sea in the blue distance.

Oh Kim,
I'm so into the red that I almost missed the eagle. What a terrific photo. I love this so much.

Isn't it interestng how one little bird (actually, I guess it's a rather large one...) can make a photo? The pier, building are attractive enough, but the gull adds the final touch.
