Part of the Northwest Schooner Association's newly formed Windjammer Fleet, the beautiful schooner Adventuress took part in the 2010 Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival, giving folks a taste of sailing on this classic 1913 vessel. I also saw the Zodiac, and they were among several in the fleet present on Lake Union. The Adventuress hosts an educational program called Sound Experience, and some of the other schooners can be chartered for private events. For the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival the Adventuress was boarding passengers for cruises around Lake Union and hosted a July 4th Fireworks viewing from her decks, complete with Lopez Island Creamery ice cream.

What a beautiful ship.
A really nice ship! Looks like the "pirates" had a fun weekend!
Whoa, this is a sleek looking craft. Must be a lot of fun to sail on her.
What a day. Beautiful vessel. But it looks a bit nippy.
Re J.T./C.K: I caught them at Tanglewood (in Western Massachusetts), and the audience was filled with James Taylor's hometown crowd. Carole King blew everyone away with her energy and her performance. The audience was on its feet for the last third of the show, insatiable. They did a three hour concert and looked exhausted but radiant when they finally left the stage.
I love the Wooden Boats but didn't make it to the festival this year. MB
Gorgeous shot-- what a fun place to watch the fireworks! The Zodiac usually makes its home here in Bellingham, and I love watching the kids learn about sailing on it.
Hey! Thank you for posting this and tweeting it. What a great shot!
I also would like to mention that in Sound Experience's early days, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit only chartered the ship. However, it now fully owns and maintains the good ship Adventuress!
We're going to retweet this! Thanks again for the post!
