Several street artists seem to be commemorated on this small padlock in Post Alley. Names seen from this angle include Pon1, Laze, Savme, and BSA. I'm wondering if Pon 1 is a street artist with a day job working in bio-med ;-).

Awesome shot. I like the chess piece on the side of it...assuming that's what it is, a chess piece...

Yes Shelley, that is a chess piece, a common symbol of Pon1 the Seattle artist. Pon 1 in science is a particular gene, but in chess it could be "pawn won," so we can all take heart in not being "only a pawn in their game," or maybe s/he's thinking the pieces that start out inhabiting the 1 spaces on the chess board are all the royalty and court, or maybe it is a reference to some coding terminology (Lord knows there are thousands of MicroSerfs here who speak the language), or a play on Pon the famous NY artist's name. Or, it's random . .I know nothing :-).
