In view of Lake Washington I came across this display of colorful kayaks at Sand Point. They helped to brighten up the overcast afternoon.

How interesting. Most of the kayaks in this picture are white water craft. Is there white water in the area? My preference would be the longer, touring kayaks. More stability, less potential for tanking.

I have a feeling this is a rooftop display of a manufacturer or dealer to pique interest in drivers along Sand Point Way. No white water on Lake Washington. Thanks for the info, Janet.

I just learned that these shorter craft are also good for kayaking in the ocean. I still wonder if they wouldn't be a bit too unstable for something like the Sound, but having only lived in the area three days before coming to Europe, I didn't have a chance to find out. Kayaking is one of the things I look forward to when I get back. Whenever that might be...
