I was released from work a few hours early today due to the snow that started falling steadily at about 7 AM. I took this on my way home when it wasn't snowing. (A few more snow shots can be seen at my More Seattle Stuff page.) It commenced again mid-afternoon and a wind is up blowing the powder all about. I've heard we will get a few more inches overnight and a bit more tomorrow, then warming to the 40s F on Wednesday. So, it is likely there will be no snow left on the ground for the American Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. If a snow day is called tomorrow and I get part of the day off I'm wondering how long a line I might have to wait in to get my snow tires installed for the season :-).

Great perspective in your snow photo!
I love the footsteps trailing away in your photo. I bet a lot of people will want snow tires tomorrow!
snow already! I love the idea of staying home while it snows and snows outside. From the warmth inside, I can watch the snow fall. so pretty.
Footprints in the snow! Pretty! Looks like my friend "I" (the one you met) got out of there just in time. She is coming here for a visit. Yeah!
My street looks pretty similar. Still snowing and blowing and cold here at 10:30 p.m. I'm wondering if SEATAC will be shut down tomorrow. My Norwegian class at the Nordic Heritage Museum has been cancelled.
I would have thought snow in Seattle came once in a blue moon.
Just got an e-mail from a co-worker from here who is on assignmnet in Everrett...he had to abandon his car last night and walk up the hill, in snow. Toto, we are not in LA any more.
Though I'd come by a definitive Seattle spot to see what's up. Stay warm and safe.
Ah, Chuck, how beautiful!! When I lived in Seattle, in all 18 years I think we had snow maybe 3 times.
We're actualy coming up for the holidays and I hope our travel isnt ipacted by the weather, but that we can enjoy it when we ge there.
Thanks guys! Glad to see "I"arrived safely in Switzerland! Janet, I wouldn't even chance walking to your house with the ice on the sidewalks right now. Sorry your class got canceled.
Ah, Aunt Snow, I don't know how to tell you this, but, ah. . .I'm not Chuck. I'm Kim. You can find the magnificent Mr. Pefley at his very fine blog, One A Day, Mostly Seattle, oh, about 3 miles up the road from here, beyond that dark clump of trees but before the water. :-) Glad you popped in here, tho!
Wow! You got a snow day for that tiny bit of snow? You would never survive in Indiana. We may get a foot of snow, as long as it isn't drifting it's business as usual. I guess that's because our terrain is so flat.
