7:15 AM January 1, 2011 and I could view the top of Mount Rainier in the distance (can you see it?) with a sliver of moon in the dawn sky. A street light is illuminating a tree still clinging to its leaves and icicle lights adorn a house porch railing. I loved the play of blue, golds and pinks with the dark silhouettes. A promising dawn to the new year. Yes, it WAS super cold so I didn't stop too long in my tracks to snap this :-).

I love this photo. The sun rising in the sky with Christmas lights lighting your walk as well. Happy New Year.
What a beautiful sight...it is a scene captured well. :) The Christmas lights are a lovely addition.

I have been thinking about this shot since yesterday, but I was a kind of lazy this morning... Let's knock on wood and hope that I will catch a nice sunset on Monday night... It has been a really nice start for 2011!!
By the way, Happy New Year!! (maybe this year we will see you around!!)
Early birds get the jump on the new year ... that's what I hear, anyway.
Happy New Year, Kim. Thanks for getting out this morning ... I was still snug in bed and feeling somewhat justified -:)

Nothing beats the quiet of morning. It's rejuvenating.
Were you just coming home from the night before? You were out very, very early.
