With the cold temps in Seattle this past week, movie theaters like The 45th Guild in Wallingford have attracted folks into warm lobbies with the aroma of popcorn and the promise of being transported away for awhile into the land of the silver screen. The theater opened in the 1920s as the Paramount and boasts the charming deco details of the era.

Been by, but never in. I always laugh when I see this theater because ones on its marquis it had the title of the film 'Namesake,' which I read as Nah-meh-sah-kay, Japanese-style. My daughter howled!

Love this art deco theater and you captured the neon so well. I can smell the popcorn. Let's go inside!

We must be on the same wavelength. I posted a very similar photo from my town at about the same moment as you posted this one.

Every time we visit my daughter in Tacoma, we like to get into Seattle to explore. Your photos sure to make that job more difficult - so many interesting and "cool" places.

You capture the chill of the evening and the warm promise of the entertainment. I loved seeing the glacial boulder yesterday, particularly after hearing you describe it.
