The City Daily Photo Blogs November 1st theme is the Water's Edge (click the link to see participants). This particular water is along the Fremont Cut portion of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. Lots of cute costumed trick or treaters yesterday and now it's All Saints Day. Last year on All Hallows Eve morning I was walking through Père Lachaise cemetery half a world away. It was beautiful in its autumn splendor and colorful mounds of chrysanthemums everywhere in remembrance for All Saints Day. This year I am wandering much nearer my own turf and thinking of an amazingly grace-filled person recently gone. This one is for you Cal. Your leadership and humanitarian assistance to so many refugees to this country who suffered difficult circumstances will ripple on for generations, as will your deep love for your dear family and the gentle influence you had upon your friends in the way your lived your life with thoughtful integrity and a heart for serving others.

Lovely reflection. This is a great place to sit and dream.
Lovely shot of the canal... I forgot about theme day... oops!
Magic view Kim.
Beautiful light, Kim and adore the angle. Beautiful reflections and super the difference in light on the bench and the rest. Cal would love this, no doubt.
This is just plain beautiful Kim. And like Jilly, I live the bench in the foreground. I HAVE to go to Seattle some day (in fall obviously!)
Beautiful image and words Kim. Your friend sounds like an amazing person that will be greatly missed.

Oh wow! This is perfection. Everything works - the bench, the water, the trees, the sky! Fabulous photograph! This would make a great picture for a wall!
Beautiful quality of light here. I can't believe no one was sitting on the bench enjoying the autumn view.
Beautiful shot and wonderful tribute for a friend who is gone.. MB
Splendid colors! And the scene is perfect for A Bunch Of Benches, too. Wouldn't we all like to sit awhile there?! PS. I'm definitely NOT a robot!
Seattle is not my top-of-the-mind choice for fall colours. But this picture of yours will challenge the leaders on that list. Thank you, Kim!
Lovely shot with lovely reflections, both visual and thoughtful.
Absolutely wonderful. Wonderful colors and wonderful cut !
A wonderful fall image along the cut and beautiful words for your friend, Kim.
Great, full control of the aesthetics and composition, love the tonalities and its beautiful mood! Cheers!
A beautiful and thoughtful picture.
Love your choice for the theme day. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
Have a great month!
A beautiful shot - love the autumn colors.
A wonderful tribute to a beautiful person served by an amazingly peaceful and lovely photo. I'm with you Kim.
