This particular water is along the Fremont Cut portion of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. Lots of cute costumed trick or treaters yesterday and now it's All Saints Day. Last year on All Hallows Eve morning I was walking through Père Lachaise cemetery half a world away. It was beautiful in its autumn splendor and colorful mounds of chrysanthemums everywhere in remembrance for All Saints Day. This year I am wandering much nearer my own turf and thinking of an amazingly grace-filled person recently gone. This one is for you Cal. Your leadership and humanitarian assistance to so many refugees to this country who suffered difficult circumstances will ripple on for generations, as will your deep love for your dear family and the gentle influence you had upon your friends in the way your lived your life with thoughtful integrity and a heart for serving others.
