Pony-Up at the Pump

Posted by Picasa Yesterday's photo of the castaway flying red horse gas station sign from my youth reminded me of current times. I took this shot at sundown in Seattle's University District.

LEAVE YOUR COMMENT: So, here is a global survey: what is the price per gallon/liter of gas/petrol where you are? (Please state your city, country, current pump price for unleaded regular gas, and indicate your country's currency, i.e., Euros, Canadian $$, US $$, Japanese Yen, Mexican Pesos, etc. . .)

I've heard Americans bellyache for years about the price of gas, yet I know Europeans have been paying twice the price and more. In a time of record profits for oil companies, I'm curious to know the going rate for gas at the pump in different regions of the world.

  1. Interesting. I just filled up today and was wondering how much everyone was paying.

I payed $2.91 at a Shell on the Eastside. I wonder why it's so much more on your side of the bridge?

  7. Here in the north-west of England the price is just under one pound sterling per litre. Deisel used to be a bit cheaper than petrol but now there seems to be not much difference.

  8. Cambridge - it's around £1 a litre, equivalent at today's exchange rate to US$7.05 per US gallon. And sadly the taxes certainly don't go towards public transport here in England luggi :(

  9. $2.75 USD here in St. Paul, MN. We all need to drive smaller autos (or scooters :>)--dislike SUV's with a passion!

  11. In Chattanooga, it's $2.42 US. It's gone down from $2.72 in the past 2 weeks. But we traveled to middle Tennessee (Chattanooga in is the eastern part) this weekend to bring my son to college and gas was still $2.72.

  16. I paid $0.90/Liter Can$. With the current exchange rate that works out to $3.91/US Gallon. At today's prices, that's the lowest it's been in months. We have paid over $5.00 at peak prices. $3.00 a gallon looks pretty cheap to me.

  17. I don't actually own a car here in DC ( we rely on the metro, our feet, or http://www.zipcar.com/ which is a car share in which gas is included, so I don't pay much mind to the gas prices. I did see on the news that they are supposed to be going down for Labor day... I think it's around $2.90-$3.08... Nice photo effect, Kim! And I love this kind of group involvement! =)
