Railroad Bridge at the Locks

This railroad bridge is usually tilted up unless a train is using it. The train had just passed. Boats are coming in from the Sound to use the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. I've been at a friends house up the embankment from here, and the train looks like it could be in a miniature train set.

  1. There's so much activity around Lake Union and the locks, especially on a summer day. This lively photo just bustles!

  3. I love bridges... the architecture and engineering which goes into them astounds me. You've capture the bridge and the boats well. Makes me really want to head up to Seattle. I haven't been there in over 10 years.
