This railroad bridge is usually tilted up unless a train is using it. The train had just passed. Boats are coming in from the Sound to use the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. I've been at a friends house up the embankment from here, and the train looks like it could be in a miniature train set.
There's so much activity around Lake Union and the locks, especially on a summer day. This lively photo just bustles!

ReplyDeleteI love bridges... the architecture and engineering which goes into them astounds me. You've capture the bridge and the boats well. Makes me really want to head up to Seattle. I haven't been there in over 10 years.
