It's the last hurrah in the gardens around Seattle. The light is dwindling earlier, yesterday the midday sun was bright, the air crisp, tree leaves beginning to turn red and amber, and the last blue-sky blooms were saying goodbye. Today gloom and drizzle, tomorrow rain. Farewell high summer. You were glorious!

The rainy season is the one thing I do not miss about Seattle... but summers are unbeatable.
well as you say goodbye, I can hear it knocking on the door at my place! Goodbye winter.. you've been cold and miserable. ROLL ON SUMMER!! ( Sorry ).
It's always sad to say goodbye to Summer...but atleast we have the holiday seasons to look forward to :)
Gorgeous shot Kim...I loooooooooove hydrangeas...specially the blue ones...great watercolor subjects!
OC & Anne are right and I'm looking forward to Fall, means we're that much closer to the next Summer! ;-)
And don't listen to John, his toilet water circles the wrong way!
LOL!

as long as it goes down!
PS Hydrangeas were my da's favourite flower, so I remember him when I see them. Thanks.
That's beautiful.
I think summer in Seattle would be perfect if it just would RAIN at least once a month.
It's such a bi-polar climate where it rains and is grey all winter and then come summer there isn't ONE drop of rain till September.
I actually have to resort to putting on my sound effect CD of a tropical rain forest to get my rain fix. This year was especially hard, since it was the driest summer on record ever.
I'm glad the rain is back...
rain = life
