Most all the fruit from this beautiful little Capitol Hill crabapple? tree was scattered on the grass of the parking strip where the tree grew. At least this lovely green gem was enjoyed by a bird or squirrel. Friends of ours recently shared wonderful apple pie and bags of sweet delectable plums from their yard with us. Yum! In my walks the past couple months, I've noticed some heavily weighted apple trees in front yards with much fruit scattered about on the ground. It surprised me that so many owners of laden trees hadn't time to pick the fruit. Community Fruit Tree Harvest is one organization which seeks community involvement to help homeowners harvest their extra fruit and donate it to kitchens and food banks for many to enjoy. cette pomme a fait des heureux.
this apple made the happy ones. it is a very good idea (if I board included/understood well) to give has an association the fruits tombs. In Paris area there is much farm, or one can come to gather to us same the fruit and vegetables (that coute less expensive than in store) and that amuses much the children

Great picture...I love the colors!
And of course, let's not forget that some of the best apples come from Washington state. Beautiful.
Really beautiful indication of Fall coming and the little animals scurrying to get their "houses in order" for the winter.
hmm...Great natural shot!

Kala, Nah, YOU live in Eden. I'm just East of Eden. . . ;^)
Lisi, thank you so much!
Kate, I agree with you. Sometimes I resist posting flora and fauna shots, but then I think of folks like Jenny and John and know I just have to do it sometimes. Part of our cities is the outdoors, and it affects us all so profoundly.
Edwin, so nice to "see" you here! And thank you!
Jing, I guess we are all in love with autumn's paintbrush. Thank you.
Candice and Megan, thanks!
Metaphysicalmama, I've been surprised since moving here to Washington that the apple crop is no longer the prominant feature it was from an outsider's perspective. Like Idaho is known for its potatoes, Washington used to market itself as the apple state. No longer. It didn't even make it onto the back of the state commemerative quarter, soon to be issued. I was surprised. So many people think of apples when they think of Washington.
Eric, Thanks, and yes indeed the squirrles were busy. Right after I shot this, a little squirrle run right past me and up onto a fence and posed.
Zannie, thank you very much. Thanks very much for visiting here!

Lovely shot Kim , i really enjoy the contrast with the shadows and the colour.
oh, very nice shot of the fruit and leaves Kim. And yum to the pie and goodies you got!
That's a great photo, the contrasting orange and green is very striking. The shallow depth of field works well, I need a better camera! ;)
