Water envelops one half of this sculpture installation at a time. This father in Father and Son by Louise Bourgeois is in the midst of mists. Sometimes he is shrouded from view by high water, at others, as in the photo, it's his son that is hidden from view. On this particular day, there is even water above him in the clouds as well as water below. For an overview of the whole fountain which resides in Olympic Sculpture Park, click here and here.

Kim, this is beautiful. I've only had one opportunity to visit Seattle (last May) and I missed this. One more reason to come back!
Lovely, lovely shot. I love how you captured the flow of the water; looks a bit like individual strands of cotton candy. Bravo.
This is such a great addition to the waterfront. We visited in January and had the whole park to ourselves. Great night shot!
Port Angeles Daily Photo
superbe photo, cette sculpture avec la fontaine (de plus une belle photo de nuit et quel ciel), bravo
Superb picture, the sculpture with a fountain (over photo of a beautiful night sky and what), bravo
How fabulous. Such a beautiful photo of a stunning fountain. What a photo for today's theme!
Cool fountain and really nice pic.
A beautiful image of father and son even if the son is hidden...
The father's arms tell everything.
wonderful blue sky..
Great shot. I haven't been to the Sculpter Park yet--don't get down that way much. Water day, eh. MB
Very dramatic, beautiful capture.
Happy theme day.
the statue seems to take its shower and to leave a cloud at the same time
Gorgeous. You got the light and shutter speed just right. I like Bourgeois' work, too, but I don't think we have any around here. On the other hand, a naive viewer could interpret this as a new bathing facility for Seattle's homeless.
Lovely shot, Kim. . .Lovely shot. I also like the music today.
Funny thing. . .When we were in Seattle a few years ago, it rained only once early one morning. It was great!
There is an exhibition around Louise Bourgeois in Paris just now, in Beaubourg Museum I think, I must check...
Please Kim, could you tell me the tittle of this music on your blog? I really like it very much.
Thnaks for stopping by my new blog.I liked the Aurora reference you left.
You have so many stunning photos, where to start commenting... What great way to discover Seattle through your images.
The daily theme being water. I didn't actually know about the daily theme. Will there be one tomorrow, and if so what will it be or where do i find out?
Will be back to journey further round Seattle,
Boo.
Kim, a beautiful, beautiful photo.
Nice photo. That must be quite the park.
You have got a "F": Fantastic
Beautiful shot! I need to check that sculpture park out.
Kim nice light ... worth waiting for. I think that fountain is one of my favorites in Seattle. Happy theme day. ~Chuck
This is a gorgeous capture for theme day. Seattle looks like a city I would love to visit some day . . . thanks for sharing all your great posts!
Great play on water. i like the contrast of the dark blue sky and bright white fountain, both in fluid contrast to the stationary stature.
Oh my gosh, Kim! All of your photography is just gorgeous! Thank you for stopping by at "Willits" to say hello.
Wow, its a great lighting effect. Very nice.
Thanks for comment on Nelson and answer to your question is that both shots were taken with Tamron 17-50.
The theme-day shot was at the 17mm end and runner up one is at the 50mm end.
Kim, maybe you'll be interested by: www.centrepompidou.fr (Louise Bourgeois's exhibition takes place there)
Great photo! I love how the clouds, water, and statue play off each other!
This is a great fountain. Love the statues.....good one.
