We find this warm neighborhood cafe on Fremont Ave. to be a perfect place to while away a weekend morning with friends over a scrumptious brunch or meet for a relaxed dinner.

What a great perspective! The silhouettes give it warmth, but with a bit of mystery.

Very nicely done, Kim. This is not a cafe I've known about. Sounds like good atmosphere and food. ~Chuck

Kim, I passed this restaurant many times in Seattle with Bibi while I was visiting my daughter. Never went in though, since Bibi doesn't like to sit outside and watch me enjoy myself. I love the photo; reminiscent of van Eyck's Arnolfini Wedding Portrait mirror, which includes a tiny portrait of the artist in that mirror, ....and I think I see you in yours, too!

And how do you post such large photos? Very nice.

Kim, I love it! What a great idea. I also ask the question "How do you post such large photos?". I keep checking different templates... my CDP for Corsicana really needs help with sizing!

Knoxville Girl, Many thanks! Fun to hear you mention some mystery! The wait staff are not only gracious but graceful in silhouette.

Jilly, would that we could all bottle your sweetness. You are too kind. Thank you!

Chuck, I'm sure you and your sweetie would enjoy it. Their greens taste like someone just went out back and picked them and lots of other great offerings that are fresh and tasty.

Mark, Pat, and Lake Lady: you all inquired about my photo sizing. I use Flickr to upload to Blogger; however, Flicker does not offer the size I need. So, I drag out my dusty high school algebra skills to convert their "large" size (commonly 1024 pixels wide by 683 tall in landscape orientation) to 720 wide and whatever the hight converts to in the equation (commonly 480 high). I copy and paste the html code from the large size Flickr selection into the html of my post ( look for line in code that begins and ends . . . and replace with Flickr large code). Then I change the numbers in that code to those I came up with in my algebraic equation for the specific photo. So, the formula is 1024/683 x 720/x = 683 x 720 = 491.76/1024= 480. So, my most common variable is 480 for the 720 width. If I'm using a cropped photo the figures will come out differently. But, 720 is my constant. Hope that is helpful. If you don't use Flickr to upload your photos, this won't help you, but there are other CDPBloggers who resize to a larger format who might share their method.

Susan, I've only tried veggie offerings there so far, but I did notice they use Neiman Ranch bacon! (I used to live near there in Northern Cali and their products are wonderful).

Olivier, Lavender Lady, Professor, Paula, & Ken, Thanks very much for your kind comments. Much appreciated!

That code line wouldn't print in this comments section: look for the code line that starts with a left carrot followed by the letter a and a right carrot and closes with a left carrot followed by a backslash and the letter a and a right carrot. Replace that whole line with the Flickr large code for your photo, then replace the number 1024 with your width, and 683 with your calculated hight (for landscape orientation).

First, I like the photograph a lot. I thought it was a piece of jewelry.

Then I read your conversion explanation and found that interesting too. I also have a Flickr account but prefer photobucket as it offers the conversions without the math.

720 pixels is, by the way, 10 inches.

OMIGOD....I'm in IT....but I'll have to get one of my techs to explain what you've just said. Not fair that you have artistic AND algebraic talents! ;-)
