Theme Day: Numbers in Your City

63 ELEVEN

Photo & Text Copyright 2008 Seattle Daily Photo. All rights reserved, including reproduction or republishing.

63 ELEVEN is a small but very active Seattle art gallery on 24th Ave NW. I would have loved to have shown this on an opening night when it glows from within and is filled with people admiring the art on the walls; but, the numbers on the exterior wouldn't have shown well, and that is our focus today.

Our CDPB visual portal creators have devised a new way for you to tour the world visually for our theme days by clicking here, so give it a try and see thumbnails of all the entries. Or you can select from among the over 180 cities participating today by clicking on them in our traditional list below. Either way, enjoy seeing what we've found for our numbers theme today and be sure to leave a brief comment for those you visit!

I like that you combined the written with actual numerals. It sounds like it is fairly new; I hope it succeeds. Have a great theme day.

It looks like a fun little gallery to visit. Cool numbers. MB

great choice for the theme

It's sort of confusing to see numbers and written numbers - so good choice - sure this must be a fascinating gallery. I love the reflections.

You obeyed perfectly to the instructions of the theme!!
Good girl!! and an Art gallery is Always a good choice!

la galerie ouverte de nuit, c'est sympathique, il doit y avoir une bonne atmosphères. Bonne idée, j'adore les galeries d'arts.

Gallery open at night, it's nice, there must be a good atmosphere. Good idea, I love the art galleries.

Colorful choice, Kim and a great nod to the smaller galleries in the big city. Nice combination of numbers for our theme.

Cool reflection in the windows too.

Kim, I do believe this gallery is owned by my friends Steve and Sarah Angel. Wonderful choice for theme day. Thanks for stopping by my Seattle blog. I appreciate your comments -:)

I think it was a poor choice to photograph the studio in a lesser light - if you liked it better at night, with the glow and the people, that's when you should have captured it. The "numbers" association would have been pretty clear from the name of the studio, which you would of course have mentioned. This is a mediocre, flavorless shot at best.

Gargamellos should shove it! I think it is a great photo. I love the mix of numbers - the digits and spelled out. No one will be driving down the street slowly trying to find this gallery.

Yea! Great shot!

My favorite numerically named venue is 611 Supreme, the crepe place on Capitol Hill. Nutella in homemade crepes! There's nothing better.

Clever numbers. Love this shot with the reflection in the windows.

I'm with Felicia on the shove it. It's a winner as, it's witty, confusing, but also clearly evident what is it. Some achivement. A full flavoured big blue superior number, for a number's theme.

we have a house in Saarbrücken that has a similar number to this one. It's also blue and it's also number 63. When I come to that house next time I'll take a shot! :)

Striking! Great choice!

Well, maybe the windows weren't glowing when you took it, but I kinda like the reflections and the blue stillness. I think it's a good choice for theme day.

Oooh, I like the warpy reflections of the other side of the street layered on the white gallery wall and those simple chairs. Nice pops of color too.

Excellent choice Kim, I love that the way the gallery name stand's out against the blue. Great choice.
Happy Theme Day!

Very fine image, Kim! Louis likes the reflections in the windows!

Louis saw your comment at Avignon Daily Photo - like you, he immediately thought of the little girl in the red coat in "Shindler's List"!

The gallery looks very appealing and the numbers are part of its style, excellent choice for this theme day. I see in your profile very interesting names of musicians! I love sites with background music, an audiovisual experience.

Thanks Kim for comment.
Answer to your question, It's as you already guessed. I did zooming while taking a shot and cropped. Well that my dream. This one is with a photoshop. Add zooming filter to the original and just carefully adjust where to make a centre. Nothing special, Hum?

I really like your picture, it just fits right in with our theme. Glad you mentioned this is a gallery, I thought for second this is one of those mom and pop store in Seattle. Well done.

Very colorful! I like the name of the gallery. And I peeked inside: those two old chairs look very nice.
