Alki Bakery This Morning

Alki Bakery This Morning

This was the high summer scene at Alki Bakery this morning, a favorite early morning haunt of ours in West Seattle. There are still two and a half weeks before school starts again, so this part of Alki Avenue and the path along the beach will become crowded later today with folks out enjoying the sunshine and looking for a bit of relief from the 90 F heat.

Let's all beat the heat and head down under to Auckland, New Zealand where it is winter and where Lachezar, a CDPB photographer I greatly admire, is celebrating the 2nd Blogoversary of Auckland Daily Photo. Big congratulations!

Wow that looks inviting! I love the colors in this shot. That blueblueblue and the red contrast...just beautiful.

Off to Auckland now. THanks for the suggestion! :-)

What a great spot for a coffee, a pastry & a chat.

that looks like a great place to relax by the water on a summer's day. Thanks for visiting my blog.

As Ann wrote - it looks like a great place to relax. No wonder it's a favorite of yours!

I just love baked goods. I even have a belly to prove it.

BTW, I posted a picture of the little chipmunk's brother today on my Brookville blog.

Nice! Alki is full of photo opps, isn't it? I just wish it were closer!

Anyway, I too was photographing outside a bakery this morning -- one in my home town of Edmonds.

A man walked up to me and said. "Good morning for photos, huh?" It was none other than this guy, whose HQ was only about a block away.

Sorry, but you were bragging about being just a degree or two of separation away from Robin Williams a few weeks ago, and this is the closest I've come while out on a shoot. :-)
