Amazing Aurora's Rosy Fingerpainting

Photo & Text Copyright 2008 Seattle Daily Photo. All rights reserved, including reproduction or republishing.

Yesterday morning I met a friend for a 6:00 AM walk, and this is the sky that greeted us! These colors are straight out of the camera with no fiddling at all. If you would like to see one of my favorite Seattle area photographers' spectacular shot of the Space Needle at just about the same moment as this, click here. Ervin Vice's work is amazing, so be sure to look through his photostream. You will find no end of amazing shots, like this one.

Red skies at night, sailors' delight
Red skies in morning, sailors take warning

Did it end up raining later in the day? Even though this gorgeous photo was taken in the morning, now I'll be singing "Red Skies At Night" by the Fixx for the rest of the day!

I'm actually sitting in your beautiful city as I type this. Not much to look at from here, though, except a dirty airport floor and a bunch of runway vehicles. Anyway, the sunset is quite beautiful tonight, though not exactly colourful. It's warm and golden, and I like it.
