White Tower

Photo & Text Copyright 2008 Seattle Daily Photo. All rights reserved, including reproduction or republishing.

A blue scene with towering clouds and a white tower on Sunday evening. Music from the Bumbershoot festival in the distance was rising up to us. I was having a pleasant conversation with a couple from Poland and a fellow from Moscow, and we were all shooting this scene.

Update: Thanks to Knoxville Girl's heads up! As it turns out, Saint Louis Daily Photo's Strangetastes was shooting this scene just a few yards away from me, but neither of us knew it. The sad thing is, we had hoped to meet up for coffee while his family was on holiday in the area, but, due to an email snafu on my part, we didn't end up connecting, except in this shared vision that evidenced our near proximity. Today SLDP also features this same view from almost the same instant on the same day. Cue up music for the Twilight Zone now. . .

If you still had the rating scale for your photos this would be a 5, but I'd try to give it a 10. Very nice photo.

Wonderful view. But I am sure the tower is a UFO ^^

I'm with Marcel -- this shot is off the charts. What amazes me about it is that you managed to capture a crystal/electric feeling of a living and breathing vital town even through a static cityscape. Now, how did you do that?

You should be the official photog for the Seattle Chamber of Commerce!

Kim, I was just at St Louis DP, and it looks like you might have been at the same place, maybe about the same time.
Vista like this make me miss Seattle a lot.
And thanks to Blacksun, I have that Neil Young song in my head about the spaceships flying. :-)

Laurie beat me to it. The Chamber of Commerce or Tourist Office should see this shot Kim. Amazing.

I love how you paired the Sisters in eveningwear glamor. The younger is a bit taller, but they both look clean and glittering.

Hah! I almost mustered enough energy to visit Kerry Park last night to view those amazing clouds behind the city, too. Could have been three CDPB photographers blissfully unaware of each other. I think we need little CDPB cards tucked into our hats LOL!

Kim - just got home and looked at our two posts together, the same view shot from the same place at the same time. I'll simply have to improve my ESP skills the next time I'm out your way. Perhaps this is an illustration of the saying about great minds thinking alike.

It seems like you and strangetastes had photography ESP. Amazing overview. The nightlight is crystal clear against that rich blue backdrop. One of my favourite cityskylines to view.

I think it's amazing that you were so close and yet so far. And the photos are almost alike but both are very nice to see.

See my Alien

Another great image. Clichéd I know, but I do like the Jestson’s vibe of that tower.
