Theme Day: Feet

We All Walk These

We all walk one of these. I was watching some locals walking a tightrope at last weekend's NW Folklife Festival. I thought of figurative painter Carol Aust's work which sometimes features ordinary people walking the tightropes of their lives, trying to make it despite economic odds, self doubt, juggling ten things at once, and carrying loved ones along as they balance on high. It was great to be able to observe carefully the techniques several walker's used to get across the line. This one's for you, Carol! A few more shots at More Seattle Stuff.

It is first of the month theme day for the City Daily Photo Bloggers. Now you can do some fancy footwork yourself and click here to view thumbnails for all participants to see how this theme has been interpreted all over the globe.

What a brilliant image and commentary, Kim. Inspiring for tomorrow's Feet Theme and hard to live up to, I'd think.

Kim, this is great. It would have been great for the theme day in June 'feet'!

What a fabulous photo, Kim. I love it. Sorry I haven’t been around much lately – life’s busy, but I do appreciate every comment you make. I am looking thru a backlog now. Wow there's some great shots here.

What an awesome photo, Kim! It's perfect in every way, and a great example of the theme day.

Hi! Didn't you post a photo, a close-up yesterday?? I'd commented it would make a great Feet post, but this one is great...or maybe it's the full shot of the other? Not important, for I love this photo, and the little drops of water falling from his left foot.

Wonderful!

Beautifully done - the 'rush' of the edges contrasts with the deliberate stepping of the tightrope walker - great shot for theme day!

Fantastic choice. Love the motion blur soft focus against the static feet. Analogy to life spot on too.

Washington feet meet Seattle feet! Tight rope feet greet onlooker feet! His feet are bare-feet! Greet summer feet off the street to beat the heat! A fun feet treat! EAGAN daily photo feet greet from my Minnesota street!

Hi Kim, this is a great photo. I was on Vashon during the festival, waiting for surgery. I heard it was great fun.

Really incredible...I won't try this at home! :)

You're just a great photographer, I always look forward to theme day on your blog.

Excellent interpretation and a good metaphor for our lives. I like the way the background is blurred out to really focus your attention on the feet.

These old feet think that would hurt but not for this young person, I'm sure. Lot's of good photographic elements going on here - the dirt on the feet, the DOF and the zoom effect. Nice work.

As usual you are in my top 5 for theme day!
