Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream is the favorite of several people I know and their kids. You might ask, "Is it that good?" Well, there is often a line at the Capitol Hill location. This was the first I'd seen such a long queue going out the door and down the block at the Wallingford shop. Several north end Seattle ice cream shops have shut in the past three years, so choices were slimmer when Molly Moon opened her doors last year, but I don't think that would account for the crowds. Molly and her staff have a passion for creating everything from locally grown and produced ingredients, and patrons seem to appreciate their creative efforts. What do you think? Do you have a favorite Seattle area creamery?

The Mix-mix was good, but it went out of business.
Yeah, we were regulars there during the summers. It wasn't my fave but the kids loved it and their friends ended up there in droves--very popular with the highschool and college students.
Molly Moon's graphics and colors remind me of Trophy Cupcake's down the street, and they are both about the same age--maybe the same graphic designer.
It would have to be great ice cream for me to stand in a long line- in the heat no less. I'm not that big of an ice cream eater though. Have a great day.
Amazing, they queue! Must be a great ice creamery and a hot tip for a cool summer...
Places like this usually beat the heck out of the chain stores. Sometimes it really is worth the wait.
I finally went to the one on Cap Hill last week during the day on a weekday to avoid the crowds. That would be the advantage to not working! I thought it was pretty good, but not so good to stand in that kind of line.
Mora on Brainbridge is outstanding as well. I believe there's one in Bellvue Square as well
I was visiting Seattle over Memorial Day weekend - made three attempts to go to the Cap Hill Molly Moon's, but was short on time and the lines were daunting. So I ended up at Dick's a few times and had three satisfying milkshakes.
