As prmissed, here is a photo taken with and edited in my iPhone. This taxi was headed toward the Convention Center, marked here by the giant arch that spans Pike Steet which runs through it's center.

Interesting what you can do with the Iphone, any camera capabilities or is it all post shot?
Yes, I'm very interested in how you got the great sharp focus on the taxi, soft focus on everything else. Love the photo.

WatchfulWanderer, if Apple ever wants to REALLY make a killing on its iPhone sales they will improve the camera feature. . .this is where a deal with Sony/Carl Zeiss would be a great idea. As it stands, the reason there are so many iPhone camera editiing applications available as well as cases with sliding plastic wide angle lenses is because it is a basic point and shoot no frills low resolution camera that doesn't really work in low light/night at all. Toy cameras get better resolution. It is what it is, so people are being creative with it.
Carolyn, there are many iPhone applications to edit photos. The one I played with here drops the photo out of focus (you can control how much and what kind of focus), then you literally finger paint on the touch screen where you want to return pixels to focus. It ain't Photoshop, that's for sure! BTW, thank you for your many kind comments. Do I know you? I can't place which Carolyn you might be and your Blogger ID doesn't link to any blog. Thanks for enlightening me.

Wow, that's fascinating re: fingerpainting on the screen, way beyond me so far. Kim, no, you don't know me. I'm the Carolyn who lives down in the desert but whose spirit has never left Seattle, also the Carolyn who is just now teaching herself digital photography. I follow SeattleDP and LondonDP. In my other life, I teach 18th century studies at our local university.
