Theme Day: Red

The Red Room Can't Stop

The Red Room at Seattle City Hall is a lobby area that features one wall of opaque red panels and doors. The wall passes an abutting wall and extends outside into the courtyard a bit, shown here. The Red Room is a favorite of creative photographers. The first time I visited in 2006 I had a hard time remaining in the intense tomato red vibe of it all. Seattle is a fool for red. . .it is everywhere. Hey, watch out for April Fools pranksters today :-).
This is the second time City Daily Photo Blogs first of the month theme has been RED. To see the creative takes this time around, click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

How fabulous! And what a marvellous shot. I love the way you've framed this photograph. I also love the line, 'Seattle is a fool for red.'

Note: I think you were right on Menton and that bloke was looking at me but it spoiled the story!

Fantastic!
And all that red must translate into so much energy for Seattle's residents. Does it?

The hot red makes me want to jump into the cool fountains.

I was half expecting a collage of reds but your red room is a very convincing choice. Well done Kim.

I also enjoyed catching up with your older posts - how could I ever have missed you best 2009 photo, this beautiful lady in a sari walking through a tulip field? It's an absolute stunner!

Also enjoyed seeing a picture of your bloggers meeting with Cieldequimper and Chuck - I hope it can be me one day :-)

That's an intense color for a wall!

I've never visited there! It looks, well... red! I love the way you balanced the red wall with the sunny outdoors.

Fabulous photo, Kim. The translucent light is captivating. I can see where a whole room of it might set you to vibrating. But nothing like some red to cheer us up when skies are gray.

Nice red! I didn't have a "red" pic, but is ok . . . I have ics from Festival on the Green . . .

Wow, it's almost blinding.

Very cool, Kim! I'd forgotten about that spot at city hall. You're right about there being a lot of red around here. Think of it as "Local Color" -:)

Fantastic angle, love the shapes and the way the sun lights up the red.

This is a great shot! And lucky Seattle is supporting you in your theme day efforts!

«Louis» certainly understands why red would be a popular color in Seattle.

This is a fine composition, Kim - the grey building in the background makes the red 'pop' even more. The image has a nice geometry, too.

Hi Kim - I saw your wonderful doors in CDP & FB yesterday. They really lit up both places.
BTW your page loaded up right away today...I've been by several times last month and the load took a very long time. Hope all the Blogger troubles are history.
