Another little postcard for you from my ramblings just north of Seattle last week. The clouds were moving swiftly through the Skagit Valley and we caught some sun breaks in what was otherwise a very gray and drippy week all around Puget Sound. This roadside produce stand in Mount Vernon, just a stone's throw beyond the Skagit River, is a very popular stopping place along the narrow highway through the farmlands and is famous for the size of their ice cream cones. Believe it or not, that kid to the left is carrying what the Snow Goose lists as a "single." Another shot is here. And, no, I did not get one. :-).
To see beautiful and interesting skies all around the world today, visit Skywatch Friday.

Great new masthead photo!

I like that they advertise their altitude. Looks like a fun place to shop. Love the new banner.

Oooh - such resistance on your part. I might have to head up there just to get one!!

Love your new header, too!

An interesting place, I'm sorry we don't have anything like this nearby.
Love the 1000 ft clarification!

I seem to remember a song about Seattle skies. That looks like a popular place. I love roadside stands like this.

Thanks much, guys. And yes, Louis, this is about 30 miles from MB's town and I didn't get to see her this time around. Hopefully soon. Carolyn and VP, that sign is not referring to the altitude, but I think it is recycled from roadside use years ago, letting peoeple know the stand would be 1000 feet ahead on the road. Much of the Skagit Valley is actually very low and has a system of levies and dykes to keep the water level lower than the land and buildings. :-).

Cool shot Kim. Haven't the clouds been marvy. I know this place well and am actually only 15+ miles from there.
I posted some of those skies on my sky watch too.

I like the new header too. MB

That's a nice, nostalgic PNW photo for me...and a very big ice cream...I'd have given in.
