Grid Through Grid

This is a view from the 10th level of the Seattle Public Library's Central branch. I framed this shot of two women through a square grid railing like the one surrounding them on their high lookout. The outer walls of the library are formed of a cross hatch diamond grid of metal and glass. The Central Library, designed by architect Rem Koolhaas, is a great place to explore on a rainy Saturday and they welcome photographers to amuse themselves framing the view in myriad creative ways using the interesting architectural elements there.

This is a most intruiging shot, Kim. I love the effort you have put into the composition, plus the placing of the women just so.

Brava!

This is an incredible photo! The architecture of that building is simply stunning. I want to know what that railing is. I think it's really cool how the ladies are smack in the middle of the picture itself. Often, photos don't happen that way.

Grid on Grid should be included in photo history books. It is thinking outside of the box; good job.

This is great and I really like that grid.

The women seem to be suspended amid the grids... the geometrics of the distant building seem to add another grid, making three!

Great shot and glad that you could amuse yourself in such a creative way on a rainy day!
