A family friend had one of these classic Volvo P544s long ago, so I took notice of this one parked outside the Lockspot Cafe as I was exiting the Ballard Locks. She was curvacious with shiny chrome and a few rust spots. What I didn't notice until I saw the clever sign in the window on the other side is that it is an Electric Vehicle. Here is some info for you car buffs on how it was converted by its owner Matt Pollitz. What a great project for a car enthusiast.

Did Volvo actually make an electric car back then or is this a crazy restoration? Gee, if the owner lives in Ballard it might be better if it ran on fish oil.
I think it was quite a feat to convert this from gas to electric, only accomplished in past few years. The link mentions several people working with the owner on it. Ballard does have its own biodiesel fuel maker, but fish oil, well that's still in the realm of the foodies. Thanks Bob.
