Skywatch Friday: Coming Home

Coming Home

I shot this from the shuttle window coming home from the airport. It is always a great sight to see the city skyline coming in from the north south (oops). This was taken in SODO (South of Downtown) near Qwest Field (on the left) and shows the clock tower of King Street Station and Smith Tower, once the tallest building west of the Mississippi, now dwarfed by Columbia Tower and other high rises. It is Skywatch Friday and you can see some other skies around the world today by clicking here.

  1. Kim, looks like Seattle rolled out the welcome home weather for you. My favorite way home, especially if I've been east of the mountains, is to take the Alaskan Way Viaduct along the waterfront. I always roll down my window to get as much of the saltwater smell as I can. Wonderful place to come home to.

    Happy New Year!

  2. My favorite way to come into Seattle too. It's just like you come around a corner and --wowee---there she is. Very exciting. MB

  3. It's a dear skyline, not too overwhelming, but big enough to command attention.

  5. You've knocked it out of the park with this one, Kim.

  6. Isn't this the view coming in from the south?
